There is a skill to being the kind of player that can make an impact from the bench, and it’s not something that everyone can do.
It’s often valued in the forward positions if someone can come on and change a game, but it’s also worth noting that some players need to be playing every game to build up their sharpness in front of goal.
It’s a role that any Celtic striker who isn’t called Odsonne Edouard has had to get used to this season, and it’s possible that it doesn’t suit Patryk Klimala.
He was a surprise choice to start the game today and he did show some good moments, but he also missed some glorious chances so he can’t keep starting games if that’s the case.
It’s one of these interesting situations where he might simply not have the talent to play for Celtic or he may need a regular run of games to get up to speed – and there’s only really one way to find out.
It may depend on how much Kennedy trusts him as he does have other players who are pushing for a place, but it looks like a few of the fans do want the Polish striker to get another chance after his showing today:

These opinions aren’t the unanimous choice and there are also a lot of calls for him to be written off and sold on, but it would be interesting to see him get a run of games to properly judge him.
