A bit of an anti-climax this one, if you are a football fan, but if you are a Celtic fan it was joy all the way. An excellent, well taken, crisp goal from Mooy in the first minute (don’t you just love these goals when the player literally takes it “in his stride” and doesn’t play about with the ball to get a better angle?) then Kyogu getting his usual at the end of the first half while all Hearts had to show for themselves was a save by Joe Hart on the goal line. Then Carter-Vickers got a third in the second half, and the game was over.
It was really a very easy victory with Hearts frankly putting up more resistance on Wednesday night that they did today. Celtic join Inverness in the semi-final line up at the end of next month, as we wait the results of the other two games,
There continue to be few weaknesses in this impressive Celtic side. It was nice to see Kobayashi on in the second half – we hope that Starfelt is not seriously injured – and he didn’t let anyone down in a fine performance, admittedly against a team whose teeth had been drawn.
And that is about all there is to this one! We now have 12 games to go – 10 in the League and 2, we suppose, in the Scottish Cup. Arguments will rage about how we want in the Scottish Cup semi-final – do we want “them” in the semi or should we keep “them” for the final? But in any case, it might be Raith Rovers!
What we do know is that we have Hibs in the League at Parkhead next week. One game at a time remains a valuable guideline. But in the meantime, it is great to see the BBC making a public fool of itself, is in not?
