‘He’s going to be very good’, Neil Lennon makes big Albian Ajeti prediction

NEIL LENNON has made a prediction about Celtic’s No.10 Albian Ajeti as the ex-West Ham striker is on International duty with Switzerland. Ajeti is yet to make his first start for the Scottish Champions but has scored two in two league games but Lennon believes that the supporters are going to see him get better and better.

Speaking to the Celtic View, Lennon listed the qualities that the former Basel hitman has in his locker and how they will develop as he builds up his fitness and starts to get a regular run of games under his belt.

“He’s going to be very good.

“He just needs to get fitter and conditioned. He’s had a long time out of playing regular football and then had a holiday before he came to us so in terms of his fitness levels, he’s down on that.

“The fans have seen cameos of what he’s going to bring to the team. He’s strong, technically good, intelligent and a very good finisher. For him to come on and score two goals already is a great start to his career.

“There’s more of that to come from him. He’s had two weeks now but he has to go away with Switzerland but we’ve made it clear that he needs more conditioning work. He’ll be assessed by them. Again, he comes on and scores a great goal and looks like a great player. He still has a bit of catching up in terms of fitness.”

Ajeti signed for £5m in a permanent switch from West Ham United after failing to make an impact at the Premier League club. Now, he will be hoping to strike up a partnership with Odsonne Edouard that will leave defences cowering in their wake. The prospect of a 3-5-2 involving Elyounoussi on the left as well as Edouard and Ajeti in attack is quite exciting for supporters.

Ajeti made 12 appearances in London for the Hammers following an £8m move and will be hoping to prove them wrong with a successful start to life in Glasgow.
