Hibs boss reckons Celtic will put ten past a team this season

Hibernian gaffer, Lee Johnston, has further commended Celtic on their performance at Easter Road, in their 4-0 thrashing of Hibs.

Although Hibs had a strong start against Celtic, by forcing corners and getting through on goal, after a few minutes of pressure from Hibs, Celtic began to take control of the game, while Hibs consequently fell off. Once Celtic got into their stride, there was no stopping them as they proceeded to put four past David Marshall, two from Aaron Mooy, one from Daizen Maeda, and one from Kyogo.

After a few days to mull over the result, Johnston gave his thoughts on his side’s performance, while further commending Celtic’s dominant performance. Johnston additionally voices his belief that Celtic will end up putting double digits past a team in the near future with the standard of football they have been displaying. As reported by the Daily Record, Johnston said…

“I actually feel really positive, I really do. I think Celtic will end up scoring 10 against someone this year.”

“I really do. I think there will be a double figures match. I think they are a top, top team. I thought in spells we genuinely did well.”

With Hibernian out of the way, Celtic turn their attention to theRangers, who they will meet at Ibrox on the 2nd of January. With Celtic putting four past Hibs, and theRangers putting three past Motherwell, both sides will be going into the game with a big win under their belts. However, if Johnston’s evaluation of Celtic is anything to go by, the Glasgow Derby will likely go similarly to Celtic’s clash with Hibernian.
