Hickey ready to make decision on future after great offer from Celtic

AARON HICKEY is preparing to make a decision on his future after a host of European sides circle for the Hearts left-back. As The Jambos prepare for a season in the Championship, Hickey has been linked with Bayern Munich, Bologna and Lyon as well as Neil Lennon’s Celtic.

According to Italian sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Bologna are preparing themselves for Hickey’s decision with the 18-year-old set to leave Tynecastle this summer.

The report continues that the Scottish Champions have made a great offer to Hickey in a move that represents the least traumatic transition for the talented youngster. A move to Celtic would be wise for both the club and player as Hickey came through the Lennoxtown ranks before a switch to Hearts.

With Bolingoli set to leave the club this summer and Jonny Hayes leaving in June, there would be more opportunities for Hickey at Celtic Park than there would have been previously.

Whilst Liam Morrison and Barry Hepburn have been enticed to European moves, Hickey should prioritise his development and first team exposure that Celtic would allow. Hickey made 33 appearances in the Maroon of Hearts but could be swapping that for the Hoops of Celtic if a deal transpires.
