Highlights as Celtic win comfortably over Aberdeen at Pittodrie

Celtic made it two wins from two in the Scottish Premiership after a comfortable win against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. Brendan Rodgers’ side were keen to exact revenge after the Scottish Cup Final penalties heartbreak in May and they set about to control the game, minimising Aberdeen’s forays forward and managed to return with three points.

Benji Nygren opened his Celtic account with a cool finish after a trademark Kieran Tierney assist. The Swede turned provider in the second half but the quality in the finish from Reo Hatate was simply incredible. The Japanese midfielder took the ball at the edge of the box and curled a right footed effort into the top corner, leaving Mitov with no chance.

The focus now switches to Celtic’s defence of the Premier Sports Cup with Premiership side Falkirk arriving in Glasgow for the Last 16 clash on Friday evening. Until then, Celtic fans will be hoping for updates in the transfer market as Brendan targets quality in the forward areas as well as cover for KT at fullback.
