“Hold the board to account”: fans show discontent with organised protest against Celtic board

It hasn’t been plain sailing for Ange Postecoglou thus far in the East End of Glasgow – although it really isn’t his fault.

The Aussie joined Celtic from Yokohama Marinos just under two months ago, and hasn’t been backed to the extent he should’ve been in the transfer market. Alas, he has spent £14million on Kyogo Furuhashi, Liel Abada, Carl Starfelt and Osaze Urhoghide, but this was down to the fact Kristoffer Ajer was sold for £13.5million, giving Ange a net spend of just half a million quid.

It has angered the Celtic support that he has inherited a lacklustre squad and not been able to build on it, especially given that Celtic were manageress from the end of February and also received £11million for Jeremie Frimpong in January with no permanent replacement.

Frankly, Celtic fans across all types of supporters clubs’ have had enough; leading to action being taken in the form of protest in the home fixture against Dundee this coming Sunday at Paradise.

The Twitter handle @NCCeltic – the fan account which represents fans within the safe standing section in Celtic Park’s North Curve – sent out a tweet to its 33,000 followers, confirming the protest will go ahead on Sunday at Paradise for 1pm, in a message which they will hope reaches the board and forces their hand to spend the money that the club has taken in over the last twelve months.

Hopefully it does – the way Celtic’s season is going, money has got to be spent soon with no excuses.
