Hoops Meets Stripes – Celtic’s ‘Record Breaking’ Adidas Deal Nears

Celtic are on the verge on completing a huge deal with Adidas to replace New Balance as the kit manufacturer of the Scottish Champions.

It has been a poorly kept secret that Celtic would look to the German manufacturer when the £25m-a-year deal with New Balance would run out. Now, the Scottish Sun are reporting that the deal could be record breaking for Scottish football.

Concept Adidas Kits

There are a number of concept kits doing the rounds on social media and some of them would be welcome at Celtic next season, the above is just an example of a Celtic X Adidas home and away shirt.

New Balance sealed the deal in 2015 for £25m over five seasons but now Adidas could be set to offer an increased sum of money to kit out the champions.

The famous three stripes of Adidas could be set to meet the famous Hoops as they chase a potential ten-in-a-row next season. Adidas already kit out Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as well as the Scottish National team. A move for Celtic could bolster their portfolio of top teams.

The deal is estimated to exceed New Balance’s deal of £5m-a-year but that is set to be trumped by the whopping £7m-a-year deal offered by Adidas.

Celtic are, according to reports, still entertaining discussions but it is believed that Adidas are still front runners for the club’s kit tender.
