“I can’t stand the pitch at Livingston,” Chris Sutton

“I can’t stand the pitch at Livingston,” Chris Sutton stated on BT Sport’s Scottish Football Extra last night as he looked ahead to tomorrow’s trip to play Livingston on the plastic pitch at Almondvale Stadium.

Sutton was full of praise for the style of football his old club is playing under Ange Postecoglou which has already delivered one title last season and established a four point lead in the title race this time around.

“They do play watchable football, knock the ball around nicely, go forward, get runners forward, get bodies in the box, but this is one where they’ve just got to win the game and move on, I think it’s a really difficult game.

“David Martindale’s done a brilliant job at Livingston, they’re super effective at what they do but if Celtic could come away with three points that would be absolutely enormous. These games always worry me, when going to Kilmarnock or Livi, I think they’re really difficult fixtures.”

Celtic will know that this is a crucial game and with four league matches to go before the break for the World Cup Ange Postecoglou will be targeting maximum points which will see at the lead at the top of the league at worst maintained at four points.
