“I feel that I’m in a good place,” Carl Starfelt putting his injury woes behind him

Carl Starfelt was forced off of the field due to a knee injury during Celtic’s 4-0 demolition of theRangers back in September. After spending roughly 2 months out, Starfelt made his return to the Celtic training ground in early November. However, with the World Cup raging on in Qatar, football in Scotland was put on pause, leaving Starfelt time to train and regain match fitness. Although Starfelt feels the break was useful for him, the lack of game time due to the World Cup was an issue, as it prevented the defender from reaching his full fitness.

Prior to and following the conclusion of the World Cup, Starfelt has started four of Celtic’s past five league fixtures since his return in early November, but the Celtic centre-half insists that he requires more competitive game time to reach his full fitness.

As reported by the Scotsman, Starfelt provided an update on his fitness following his return from a knee injury. “I felt I had some good weeks of training during the break and while I am not yet 100 percent I feel I am getting back there.

“You need to play games and I feel my best after a few weeks of consistently playing. Physically I feel good and I feel that I’m in a good place.”

With Celtic’s clash with Hibernian later today in Leith, Starfelt will get exactly what he needs to regain his full fitness, game time. So, while Starfelt may admit that he is currently not yet at his very best, he has assured the support that he will catch up and get up to speed as the games continue.
