Wilfried Nancy acknowledged the growing fury among Celtic supporters after another damaging defeat last night, insisting he understands their frustration while maintaining that his team is edging closer to positive results.

Any reassurance offered by the Celtic boss rang hollow for the Hoops’ travelling support after Dundee United came back from 1-0 down to claim a 2–1 victory at Tannadice against the Scottish champions, extending Celtic’s losing streak to four matches – a run not endured since 1978 in the latter days of the Jack Stein era.
Anger in the away end was directed beyond Nancy, with boardroom figures again in the firing line on a day overshadowed by the departure of non-executive Chairman Peter Lawwell, who stepped down citing *alleged* and *unsubstantiated* ‘abuse’ and ‘threats’ like the posters being displayed around the city, which made the front page of the Sunday Mail a few weeks back.

Towards the end of the game, attention turned to the dugout, with chants aimed squarely at Nancy following the final whistle.
Despite the intensifying pressure and audible calls for his exit, the 48-year-old remained defiant in his post-match interview with Luke Shanley, insisting he retains belief in his methods and is confident a victory is around the corner.

Speaking after the game, Nancy told Sky Sports: “I know they are upset. But we are close to winning games. At the moment, we are not able to do it. But the players are giving everything, we try to find solutions for it and we are having many situations to score goals. But we didn’t, we’re still working and after that we’ll see if we can have this win.”
“In terms of results it’s tough. But in terms of possibility to win games, we are there. We are on the right track, but this is not enough – I know that. We all want to win, but I’m confident because of the game we played and every time I see an improvement.”

Nancy highlighted a lack of cutting edge at the top end of the pitch as costly, with Daizen Maeda somehow failing to score from close range header when he hit the post, and Johnny Kenny also passing up three massive chances in the first half.
He added: “I could’ve said something different but today you saw we had many chances. You saw that all game that we had, except maybe in that moment, we didn’t concede many chances. At the moment, we are not able to score goals, we are going to work on that and hopefully reverse that.”

“But it is not like we did not create. That’s why for me it’s a good way, but like I said we need to be stronger on set-pieces, second waves. We played forward, attacked the box, defended well, and that’s why it’s difficult to accept this result. I know it’s four losses in a row, that’s the first time this has happened for me too. I’m not proud of that, but today we deserved better.”
