IS Jorge Cadete a Celtic legend? Probably not and the Portuguese agrees, but only because he didn’t wear the Hoops for long enough.
This morning Focus on Celtic posted a video of a goal scored by the striker for Celtic against Kosice to give Celtic a 1-0 win in the UEFA Cup tie.

Having drawn the away leg 0-0, this goal by Cadete was enough to see us through but we certainly made it hard for ourselves (as usual!)
Anyway Jorge Cadete responded to the @focusonceltic post by sending this message.
Here’s what he said:
“I do not even think I’m a Celtic FC legend, because I only played for 13 months … 47 games … 38 goals without penalty.
“Certainly that in the last 22 years I continue to be number 1 in the goals ranking in the 1st full season. 41 games and 33 goals without a penalty.
“I feel and am undoubtedly one of the most special players and that has left the hearts of supporters marked forever. I feel blessed by your affection. Thank you. I will never forget you.Hail Hail”
Cadete was such an exciting player for Celtic. His debut against Aberdeen was spectacular and he just kept scoring – frustratingly money got in the way and his career seemed to go in the wrong direction after leaving Celtic.
A legend? No, he is right, few supporters would call him that but what is certain is that he would have been a Celtic legend had he stayed a few seasons longer.
Think he knows that himself though. Regrets eh?
