“I see this noise around about Celtic being in crisis, but it absolutely is not,” Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers has rejected suggestions of a Celtic ‘crisis’, maintaining that any tension is simply ‘natural’ due to the scramble for players in the final days of the transfer window…

Last Sunday, Rodgers’ men returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, sealed by a late penalty from new Bhoy Kelechi Iheanacho. Nevertheless, ongoing discussion and overwhelming anger about how the club is being run have led to fan protests, starting in Ayrshire last weekend.

Ahead of Celtic’s Premier Sports League Cup clash with Scottish Championship side Partick Thistle at Firhill on Sunday, Rodgers sought to calm concerns over any unrest within the squad.

“I see this noise around about Celtic being in crisis, but it absolutely is not. The team is coming together again,”the Celtic manager said at yesterday’s media conference ahead of tomorrow’s short trip to Firhill for the Premier Sports League Cup quarter-final against Partick Thistle.

“Domestically, if you look at how we started the season, we’re not at our best, of course, we’re not. Everything that is happening right now is all natural with the changes that we’ve had, with players adapting and coming in late into our structure.”

“Whilst that is happening, our duty and our idea is to still win games, and the players are doing that. You see the togetherness, and ultimately, you want that within every sector of the club. I think that’s what the supporters won’t forget – they’re there to support the team and give that encouragement to the team. I think you sensed that at the end of the game.”

Following Celtic’s trip to Maryhill this weekend, Rodgers’ side will then fly out to the Serbian capital to face Red Star Belgrade in their Europa League opener next Wednesday.

Then, Celtic supporters can look forward to getting back inside Celtic Park for the first time in over a month when the team go up against Hibernian next Saturday. That will be an interesting day given supporter unrest is still at an all-time high in recent years.

  1. Celtic in “crises”?

Nah! But i’ll bet anyone that Sevconians and their allies in the BritNat media really wish they were.

And i see that childish amateur Barry Ferguson in the spotlight AGAIN, keeping himself relevant, Well, at least he is in his own head.

I’d also bet anyone that Ferguson & Co have been operating behind Russell Martins back to make sure Martin fails so that Ferguson & Co may get the job. Why else would the great “Bazza” be quoted in the media attacking Rodgers when there was nothing worth attacking. Afterall, Rodgers comments were more in support of Martin.

Ferguson, in his usual childish manner, wants to be seen attacking Celtic. Why? Because he’s probably been secretly and cowardly operating against Martin while appearing as though he’s supporting him. Ferguson is a sleekit wee turd who would sell his granny if it would benefit him.

I also wonder if the big ’49-ers’ chief flew back to Scotland to let it be known that if Martin drops anymore points they have the authority to terminate Martin’s contract and appoint their 2nd choice from the previous round of interviews.

I would laugh like f@ck if it wasn’t Ferguson and his bumchums McCann & Co. If he’s not in the running for the job then the powers that be over at Ibrox need to clamp down on the activities of those parasites around Ibrox. Because they will constantly brief against any manager the owners want to appoint. Now where have we witnessed that recent behaviour? But you’d think Parkhead was the only place ever to have that sleekit anti-manager behaviour .

  2. A ridiculous statement to be making that our club is in some type of crisis?
Fair enough to say that the PLC and footballing department, don’t seem to be operating upon the same page admittedly.

As I hold no interest upon the workings of a PLC, especially when greed seems the biggest aspect of success within that element of our club imo.

Yet our footballing department tells a different story, with three quarters of this calendar year, nearly upon us.
The highlight being glorious defeat against Bayern.
No victory’s in 4 Glasgow Derbys.
Unable to complete a treble against a very poor sheep team.
Unable to qualify for CL yet again.
Along with untold uninspiring and boring displays on a regular basis.

Not a crisis, with a quarter of a year still in operation.
A trend that needs to change quickly before a potential crisis should arise, is still in place unfortunately imo?

With such a high demand for change, currently in place within our club. The biggest change i remain focused upon is the trend that has developed within our footballing department, upon the field of play.
A huge 3 months await upon us in that regards, and as clear as mud regarding whether that trend in the footballing department will change or not imo?
    A crisis NO
    A concern YES.
