“I want to go to Celtic”, summer transfer target breaks silence

Yang Hyun-Jun has said that he wants to move to Celtic. The 21-year-old is subject to interest from the Scottish Champions and wants to test himself in Europe.

However, K League 1 side Gangwon are increasingly reluctant to sell him given their precarious league position. Speaking to a South Korean news outlet, the right-winger said he wants to move to Glasgow.

“I want to go in the summer, not winter. I hope they allow it as promised.”

The article continues by saying the club were pushing a deal but given their league position, they sought a loan-back clause in the deal which would mean that the talented youngster would not join Celtic until January.

In 67 games, Yang has nine goals and five assists with Gangwon. It will be interesting to see if Celtic revisit their interest in the young attacker.

Brendan has already praised the infrastructure at the club, transforming the approach to transfers. Now, Celtic are continuing to identify and track potential signings with an extensive resource of recruitment staff under Mark Lawwell’s instruction.

Odin Thiago Holm was the first arrival and Marco Tilio from Melbourne City is the next player expected to arrive at the club. Celtic have enjoyed unexplored markets such as the J-League and K-League in recent years.
