Today is a must win match for Martin O’Neill’s Celtic side, like each and every one of our remaining fixtures this season…
This morning we travel to Tannadice to take on Dundee United in yet another vital fixture, and with both our title rivals winning yesterday, resulting in us dropping into third place, I don’t need to tell you that victory on Tayside is of the utmost importance.
Tannadice, were we lost 2-1 in our last visit under the leadership of the inept Wilfried Nancy can sometimes prove a difficult venue for Celtic as Matthew Marr has pointed out earlier today on The Celtic Star, although we have enjoyed some memorable wins there in the past few years, a Kyogo inspired 9-0 rout under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou back in 2022, and a 5-0 win that clinched last seasons title immediately springing to mind.

A repeat of either scoreline would be most welcome later today and would really help with our goal difference because that could turn out to be important.
Jim Goodwin’s side still have an outside chance of making the top six, after Falkirk’s home defeat at the hands of St Mirren yesterday afternoon, although it’s looking very unlikely, but they need to win to stay in contention It goes without saying that they will make it extremely tough for Martin O’Neill’s side, so as always we will need to be fully prepared and focused if we are to gain revenge for our freakish defeat in Tayside back in December.

It’s a worn out cliche, but every single game from now on in will be treated like a cup final. And that’s the way that Hearts and the Rangers will be looking at their own games too.
Today is Celtic’s first part of a double trip to the city of discovery, as we head back to Tayside after the international break to take on Steven Pressley’s Dundee who narrowly lost at Tynecastle yesterday. These are two games that can have a defining say in Celtic’s title chances.

Win both and we can head into the last game post split, which is a home game against St Mirren, in very high spirits and with great confidence. Fail to win both and it will be looking very difficult indeed.
If Celtic want to be Champions then we really must beat Dundee United today. That’s the long and the short of it. Let’s get the job done Celtic!
