Kelechi Iheanacho and Marcelo Saracchi have both been declared fit and are available for the Europa League match in Rotterdam tomorrow evening against Feyenoord…

Both players trained at Celtic Park earlier today before the squad headed to Glasgow Airport for the flight to The Netherlands in a match where both sides are desperate for the points after disappointing starts to their campaigns. Celtic has four points from their first four matches whereas Feyenoord are a point behind with just three points from four matches played.

Iheanacho pulled up with a hamstring issue in the opening moments of Celtic’s 2-1 victory over Sturm Graz at Celtic Park on match day two while Marcelo Saracchi looked to have suffered the same set-back in the recent victory over Kilmarnock at Paradise. But both players are now fit and available for selection and that is going to be to be a massive boost for Martin O’Neill.

Saracchi’s availability opens the door for the interim manager to push Kieran Tierney into a back three and have the Uruguay international playing as a left-wing back with Colby Donovan or perhaps Arne Engels doing the same on the right hand side.
Iheanacho could be used in a front two with Daizen Maeda if Martin decides to try his own favoured 3-5-2 formation. In what will be Martin O’Neill’s last European match in charge of Celtic with Wilfred Nancy now expected to take over from the Celtic legend after Sunday’s game at Easter Road against Hibs.
Speaking in Rotterdam this evening Martin O’Neill gave this update: “If it’s going to be your last (European) game – which it will be – you’d have liked it to have been at Celtic Park.”
