‘I’m following every step’, Lustig admits he will always be a Celt

MIKAEL LUSTIG has spoken to Celtic TV about Celtic’s success this season, as well as toasting his former captain, Scott Brown. Lustig was a huge part of the Treble Treble success and he has been watching fondly as Celtic push towards yet another domestic treble and 9-in-a-row.

“It’s been amazing this season. There are a lot of different players who’ve come in and they’ve been brilliant for the club, and to watch them play has been amazing for the whole season.

“I still talk with some of the guys and obviously I’m following every step that Celtic take. Scott’s a machine and he just keeps getting better. The thing with Broony is, if you see him in training every day, he’s always up there in every test, and he’s so fit. And he pushing 35 this year, but hopefully he can be there for another one or two years and be able to lift that 10-in-a-row!”

Lustig was a huge part of the Celtic success over the last decade, forming a great bond with the support. He says that he hopes to return to Celtic Park when he can.

“I miss all of the fans so hopefully next year we can see each other again.”

Lustig was a crucial part of the Invincible season, with a personal highlight of the Swede being his goal at Ibrox – on this day in 2017. The right-back wove between the Rangers defenders and fired a shot into the far corner.
