“I’m delighted for us as a team. To come here, which is not an easy game, and to get a good victory,” Anthony Ralston…
Anthony Ralston’s new Celtic contract is in the pipeline and he certainly worthy of getting his time at the club extended when it looked like he was drifting away with the previous manager being pretty consistent in totally overlooking the right-back whose previous run of games in a Celtic jersey dated back the few months before Brendan Rodgers left for Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou’s arrival changed Ralston’s fortunes and like any player out of the picture the best that can be hoped for in an opportunity to prove people wrong. That includes, it is fair to say the majority of the Celtic support but that didn’t stop Ralston taking his last chance to establish himself as a Celtic player.
With no other right-backs available to him, the new manager perhaps had little alternative but to give Ralston his chance but it has to be said that the manager has transformed a player heading fo the exit to one who is almost certainly one of the first names on the team-sheet these days.
Anthony likes a day out in Edinburgh because that to him means goals. He’s the only Celtic player to have scored at both Tynecastle and Easter Road this season! After a diving header that Big Bad John Hartson would have been proud of last night, Ralston spoke to Celtic TV and has put his reemergence down to hard work and determination.

“To come here – it’s not an easy game and to get a good victory, we were terrific in the first half and for myself, I’m glad to get another goal and contribute positively to the team,” he told Celtic TV. “I work hard in training every day and when it comes to the game I just want to put my all into it and do as much as I can for the team – that’s my job at the end of the day.
“In the first half we were terrific – our movement, our speed of play. We were very direct as well. Our front three were terrific in terms of movement and the midfield was great as well,” Ralston stated. “Come the second half, we had to defend, and as a team we did well to defend and Joe made some excellent saves as well to keep it the way it was.

“So, all-round, we showed that we can go out and play and we can dominate the game, but we’ve also got that side as well to dig deep when we need to defend, so I’m delighted all-round.”
