Incredible report claims Kieran Tierney wants Celtic return

Former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is reportedly keen on making a return to Paradise…

The Scotland Internationalist is currently working back from a hamstring injury sustained during the Euros but it appears that he’s already considering his options for when he returns to the pitch.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly made the decision to sell Tierney before his injury with the left back being made available for £10m. KT has under two years remaining on his deal with the Gunners and they’ll be keen to recoup some of the £25m that they paid to Celtic back in 2019.

Now, a sensational report from TBR Football has claimed that the player wants to make the move back to Celtic, over five years after his then-record departure.

KT is keen to get back to football and dispel the notion that he is injury prone by putting together a run of games. It is, however, likely that the player requires to be managed with the impact that a heavily game load has on his body.

Given his close relationship with Brendan Rodgers, it is no surprise that the player wants to make the return from London to Glasgow. The pair were pictured at a charity event in London recently, no doubt they will keep in touch.

Celtic have Greg Taylor and Alex Valle but as it stands, both will leave the club at the end of the season when their respective deals expire. The club will be keen to retain Taylor but it remains to be seen if talks are underway.

Tierney made 170 appearances for Celtic between 2015 and 2019. During his time at the club, he scored 8 goals and provided 37 assists across all competitions.

Tierney was a key player in Celtic’s domestic success under Rodgers, helping them win multiple Scottish Premiership titles, Scottish Cups, and League Cups before departing to England.

  1. No thanks.
We don’t need an injury prone high wage demand player.

If there are any people left with a brain at this club, the deal must be “pay per play”
He is not the player that left to go south.
Better off looking for a young player we can get a few good years from.

What’s next? Signing Lustig, Brown and Mulgrew?
