Injury blow as Adam Idah forced to withdraw from Ireland duty

Celtic striker Adam Idah has been forced to withdraw from international duty after a bruising couple of weeks. In an update on Monday morning, Ireland Football have confirmed that the Celtic forward has been forced to withdraw ahead of UEFA Nations League fixtures.

The striker was on the receiving end of a shocking tackle from Liam Gordon in the win at Fir Park at the end of last month before following it up by taking a bloodied nose in the win at Rugby Park yesterday. The striker required four minutes of treatment to stop the blood and he appeared to be in some discomfort.

Hopefully it is a case of precautionary measures being applied to ensure that there’s no longterm damage to the Irishman. Since joining on a permanent basis, Idah has netted five times in fifteen appearances for Celtic. He will be hoping to really kick on and will not be keen to have a spell on the sidelines as he looks to dethrone Kyogo as the first pick forward.
