ALBIAN AJETI expects to be fit and ready to fire for Celtic’s Glasgow Derby clash versus Rangers. The Swiss striker netted versus Hibs on Sunday before pulling up with a hamstring complaint.
The Scottish Sun is reporting that the 23-year-old will be ready to face Steven Gerrard’s men in just over two weeks in a mouthwatering top of the table clash. The strain sustained against Hibs means that he will miss Thursday’s Europa League play-off versus Sarajevo in Bosnia as well as Sunday’s trip to Perth to face St Johnstone.
Since joining Celtic for £4.5m from West Ham, Ajeti has rejuvenated his stalling career. The attacker has scored six goals since joining the club and the management would have been excited at the prospect of pairing him with Odsonne Edouard in attack. Although the injury was a blow, it is hopeful to see that the player expects himself to be fit.
Even if he does not make the October 17 clash, Lennon still has Leigh Griffiths and Patryk Klimala as well as the talisman Odsonne Edouard to call upon should Ajeti be ruled out.
