Invincible star Moussa Dembele reacts to Champions League highlights of Man City game at Celtic Park

Former Celtic icon Moussa Dembele has reacted on social media to a video posted of the night he helped end Manchester City’s unbeaten run. The game back in 2016 saw Brendan Rodgers charges take on the might of Pep Guardiola in the Champions League group stage on opening night.

The game was a cracker and it exploded into life straight away with Dembele bullying the City defence into submission with a boisterous goal to kick off proceedings. Our French battering ram was sensational on the night and really raised his game for the occasion. Guardiola’s men looked like rabbits caught in the headlights if truth be told and it showed throughout the match.

They did manage to escape with a 3-3 draw in the end but it could have been so different had Moussa sealed his hat-trick with a free header in the box, only to see it thwarted. His second goal however, was like poetry in motion; an overhead kick inside the box to leave the City defence and goalkeeper in no man’s land.

The big striker reacted to the highlights feel by saying:

“A night I will NEVER EVER forget . OMG WHAT AN ATMOSPHERE Electrifying but stimulating! I felt like a gladiator entering the arena. We fought well that night The Unbeaten champions dropped points for the first time in their season in our ground. Great memory.”

Dembele’s reaction and the great post from Celtic fan media has certainly whet the appetite for next season’s foray into the big boy’s tournament. The prestige and glamour of having the biggest names in European football alone is enough to set the heart beating a little faster.

Perhaps we are long overdue a visit from reigning Champions Real Madrid?

Just a thought…
