‘It will be emotional when I’m back in the Celtic squad,’ Bitton

NIR BITTON has admitted that he will get emotional when he makes it back into The Celtic squad after ten months of injury hell.

Speaking to Celtic TV today the Israeli midfielder admits that he has had some dark thoughts as he has struggled to return to full fitness. Initially, when his knee problem was flagged up at the start of the year, Brendan Rodgers revealed that the holding midfielder would be out until September.

That deadline has come and gone though without any sign of a return – until now.

With Celtic players returning tomorrow from international duty the players will have their fitness assessed and Brendan Rodgers will prepare for an intense run of matches between Sunday, when the team head to Hamilton Accies to play on yet another plastic pitch, and the visit to Ibrox on 29 December.

As well as crucial number of league games, Celtic have the two Europa League matches, away to Rosenborg and against Salzburg at Celtic Park, plus of course the Betfred Cup Final at the start of December against Aberdeen.

With so many injuries this season, the return of Nir Bitton, has come just at the right time for the Celtic manager and his staff.

Welcome back Nir!
