Disappointing today, but we still remain comfortable at the top. it’s a great time to be a Celtic supporter…
To borrow a phrase from a well known player who plays for a rival Scottish Premiership side, ‘we were quite disappointing today’.
Draw was a fair result
We might not have been at full strength, but we created enough chances to win the game and we can only look on it as two points dropped. I was quite surprised that Dundee United looked reluctant to attack given our makeshift defence, but they did their job well and restricted us to few chances, so you’ve got to say that a draw was a fair result in the end.
As disappointing as it was to drop points and listen to the usual doom and gloom after such a result, we have to take a look at the bigger picture, and appreciate where we are at this precise moment in time.
Nine points clear at the top of the table
We currently sit nine points clear at the top of the table, we have just won the Premier Spirts League cup, and we are on course for a play off place in the Champions League . We’ve also chalked up 119 major trophies wins which is more that any club or combination of clubs – dead and alive – can boast.
It’s a pretty good time to be a Celtic supporter wouldn’t you agree? Imagine by some freak of nature you belonged to the other tribe at Hampden last weekend. A life of absolute misery would be your sad and miserable lot, making up new accolades such as yesterday’s. Yes, ‘Ibrox is the greatest stadium in the world’* is the replacement for “the most successful club in the world’ after they lost that last week using their own calculations and warped understanding of the liquidation of Rangers FC in 2012.
*It’s the third best stadium in Glasgow behind Paradise and Hampden Park.
