Given all the dramas on and off the park this season Celtic star Kieran Tierney reckons that a title win this season would top the lot in terms of the honours he has won in his first spell at the club under Brendan Rodgers. And that includes the incredible Invincible season too!

“For me, it would be the top,” Kieran Tierney told the mainstream media earlier this week, as reported by TCW. “I think everybody can see that it’s not been plain sailing, so if we come through that and if we do win a title, then for me it would be the best.
“Obviously, when I won my first title, it was amazing, and the first treble is brilliant as well, but I think this one would be the hardest fought one. This one, you know it’s going to go to the end.”
KT admitted that his return to his own club after six years at Arsenal has been far from easy, probably tougher than he imagined when Brendan Rodgers reached out to discuss a Paradise return for the homegrown hero.

“It’s been a tough season for me, to be honest,” Tierney admitted. “I just had to keep doing what I’m doing. Do my work in the gym, my recovery stuff and just keep believing that I will get better and sharper and perform better.
“If somebody’s not played consistently for three years, I think it’s hard to expect in the first four weeks that they’re going to be flying. I had two or three operations in the last couple of years, never played consistently, came back and was asked to play a lot of games at the start, so I think it’s going to take time.

“People from the outside will realise, or they’ll probably see the growth that’s happened in the last couple of months, when I’d say I’ve been performing at a consistent level. I just need to try and keep that up and try to keep defending well, helping the boys in attack, and just playing a lot of minutes.”
“That’s life at Celtic. lived that for my full life before I left, so I love being here, I love playing for Celtic, so when people come up to you, it’s great. I’m sure people know that I want the best, as well, for Celtic.
“It wasn’t a surprise or that, it’s just nobody more than me wanted me to be fitter sooner, but I’ve done my best.”

KT of course is well known for his close relationship with the Green Brigade and had he not been a Celtic player that’s exactly where he’d be at Celtic Park, although not this season as he’d be banned like the rest of the North Curve ultras. Kieran would love this all to be resolved to allow the Green Brigade back in their rightful place.

“I have known them for years, going to the games and that when I was younger, that’s kind of what I love to do when I went, try and create an atmosphere as well.
“I would love the atmosphere to be the best it can be because the run-in’s going to be tough and you know yourself how the atmosphere can be at Celtic Park and how much it can help us, so yeah, I would look forward to that,” KT said.
