“I’ve never seen him that poor before,” Nicholas slates Josip Juranovic

Former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas, has called out Josip Juranovic’s poor performance against theRangers as the spark that triggered theRangers comeback as Celtic lost control of the game and conceded two goals.

After a spectacular World Cup and his worth skyrocketing, Nicholas was left slightly confused as to why Juranovic didn’t make an appearance from the get-go. In any case, when the Croatian was brought on, albeit at his less favoured left-back, he believed Juranovic’s performance simply wasn’t good enough and sparked theRangers into taking the lead against Celtic. As reported by the DailyMail, Nicholas gave his thoughts on the creation fullback…

“I don’t know what happened with World Cup star Josip Juranovic not starting on the right and then coming on for Taylor on the opposite flank. Maybe he had a bust-up with Ange Postecoglou but he had an absolute shocker.

“Left-back shouldn’t have been a problem as he’s played there many times before. Given he wasn’t picked to start, Juranovic might be thinking Celtic are looking to sell him and this could be one of his last games. That’s certainly the way it appeared. He’s a player that I rate, but I’ve never seen him that poor before, and that was what created the spark for Rangers with Fashion Sakala’s pace down that side. Rangers went 2-1 up and had control.”

Charlie Nicholas has also concluded that Alfredo Morelos’ time at theRangers should come to an end following his performance in the recent Glasgow Derby. Nicholas reckons that the striker has been out of form for some time, by being both physically unfit and unable to put away many chances. The 24-year-old has only found the net 5 times in his past 24 games this season, and Nicholas believes that Morelos’ fellow footballing pros are beginning to catch on and see that he’s unable to run.

During Sunday’s clash at Ibrox, when Greg Taylor went down with a suspected hamstring problem, Alfredo Morelos took it upon himself to start a shouting match with the Celtic left back. Taylor hilariously responded by seemingly calling him ‘fat-boy’, which was seen by everyone as Sky’s live coverage was focused on the confrontation..

“I believe he (Beale) must get rid of Alfredo Morelos. While Beale can claim it is his natural shape, the Colombian striker just looked out of shape in the draw. We saw Celtic left-back Greg Taylor lying on the deck before he was taken off appearing to call him something along the lines of ‘fat boy’.”

“Fellow pro footballers know he can’t run. He might have had two headed chances from bad defensive play, but he was never a threat with his movement. I couldn’t believe Beale didn’t bring on Antonio Colak.”
