CCV is going nowhere despite interest from Bundesliga Champions Bayer Leverkusen. And our thoughts are with theRanger goalkeeper Jack Butland this afternoon after the worrying news about his health…
It was rumoured a couple of days ago that Cameron Carter-Vickers was interesting German Champions Bayer Leverkusen, and today it was confirmed by Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports that the Bundesliga side do indeed have an interest in the big strong man.
Anthony however also reported that the American international is happy and settled in Glasgow so hopefully that puts an end to any supposed interest.
The other important detail mentioned was that the player is contracted to Celtic until the summer of 2029 which puts the club firmly in the driving seat over any proposed deal.
All that should put an end to any worries over the influential defenders future for the meanwhile at least.

CCV is a top quality player, the best defender we’ve had at the club since Virgil van Djik, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that big clubs are sniffing around.
CCV will still be here for the foreseeable future and won’t be heading anywhere anytime soon, definitely not in this transfer window. If he keeps up his good form it is possible that he might leave one day, but that day is a long way off and there’s every possibility that he might see out his playing career in the Hoops.
Sky Sports reported on the story today following up from The Celtic Star report earlier in the week and confirming that despite interests from Leverkusen CCV is settled and happy to remain at Celtic.
Carter-Vickers is a banker to start for Celtic tomorrow in the Scottish Premiership match against theRangers at Ibrox. The hosts will be without Jack Butland who has been admitted to hospital with an internal bleeding issue. Best wishes to Jack, we hope that he’s okay and we wish him a very speedy recovery. Some things are much more important than a game of football.
