James Forrest can be Celtic’s super-sub on the way to more glory

James Forrest may be past his best, but he still gives his all and has been a great servant to Celtic Football Club, didn’t he just love scoring his goal?

James Forrest scored a fine goal yesterday in the 3-1 win over St Johnstone. The winger may be past his best at 32 but he still gives his all when called upon. He’s found chances limited this term with the likes of Daizen Maeda, Luis Palma, Yang and now Nicolas Kuhn ahead of him in the pecking order, but he’s had a few chances recently due to injury and suspension problems, and he hasn’t let anyone down.

James’s legs have gone and his game was all about pace, but he has a great football mind and his experience is key in the dressing room.

He may find his chances limited again with the return of Yang and Luis Palma imminent, but he’ll still be a major player behind the scenes with his vast knowledge and experience. he can be a great super-sub from here to the end of the season an can certainly add to his incredibly impressive goal stats as a one club Bhoy playing his entire career at Celtic.

Unfairly James had his fair share of critics during his time at the club, but he’s been nothing but an outstanding servant to Celtic football club. His goal yesterday was his 104th in a Celtic shirt. He’s also contributed over 100 assists in his 487 appearances winning 23 honours along the way.

That is a tremendous achievement and assures his place in Celtic folklore. Didn’t you get the impression that the Celtic supporters were delighted for James personally yesterday afternoon as his cheer seemed to be louder than expected for a third goal and a 3-0 lead.
