After Celtic’s 4-1 win over Ross County which takes us into the final eight, where we will face Motherwell away, a tremendous achievement was accomplished by a Celtic star last night in Dingwall. After goals from Callum McGregor, Giorgos Giakoumakis, and Daizen Maeda, James Forrest put away the fourth Celtic goal and in doing so the veteran winger scored a goal wearing a Celtic jersey every season, for the past 14 years!
Beginning in the 2009/2010 season, Forrest scored on his debut against Motherwell, where the Celts went on to hammer them 4-0. Every season since, James Forrest hasn’t failed to stick one in the back of the net for the Bhoys. His most recent goal placed a comfortable cushion for the Hoops as they steamrolled over Ross County, allowing the holders Celtic to progress in the competition.
Forrest has had a few difficulties with injuries in recent times and has struggled to secure a regular starting place in Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side. Despite this, James Forrest has managed to keep his scoring streak alive, sealing another victory for the Hoops. As Jamsie is now match-fit and back scoring goals, we are likely to see more scoring exploits from the Celtic legend in this season’s campaign.
Legend you say? Well, James Forrest is now closing in on 100 goals and 100 assists from Celtic and he’s just one or two short of both targets. When these are reached he will join both Jimmy Johnstone and Henrik Larsson on reaching those lofty Celtic achievements. So legend, aye.
🍀 James Forrest has now scored in FOURTEEN consecutive seasons for #CelticFC!

James Forrest now has 98 goals and 99 assists for Celtic FC as he gets nearer to joining an exclusive list of only 2 players to have recorded 100 goals and 100 assists for the Hoops.
The other 2 are arguably the 2 greatest players in the club’s history – Henrik Larsson and Jimmy Johnstone.
"I’ve spoken to more players than you might think who have left here and then wished that they hadn’t."
