January Review? “I’ve asked continuously for an update,” says Celtic SLO John Paul Taylor, “Club must provide an update”

Celtic SLO John Paul Taylor has this morning – the last day in January – insisted that Celtic must provide an update on the January review that we were promised last month amid a collapse in form and Celtic exited the League Cup, fell miles off the pace in the Scottish Premiership and had gone out of both the Champions League qualifiers and the Europa League in embarrassing circumstances for a club of Celtic stature.

“I know it always falls on you but when is the result of January review coming?” Celtic supporter Liam McNicol asked JPT this morning.

“I’ve asked continuously for an update on this throughout the month Liam, Club must provide an update,” the Celtic SLO replied.

“One man at Celtic who can hold his head up high during this debacle is Celtic SLO John Paul Taylor. Always helpful and understands the fans point of view,” Celtic Gossip noted.

“Totally agree with you pal. JP is a great guy and has always been helpful to me personally every time I’ve had contact with him. He puts the so called custodians of our club to shame,” Tambo Unchained noted.

“Shame he’s the only SLO who has no more information than the fans do!! Nice guy tries his best under impossible circumstances,” Near Bitten added.

Celtic certainly seem to be quite happy to hide behind John Paul Taylor, who clearly has the respect of the Celtic support. However you have to worry that this is being exploited by the club with the increasingly out of touch Board of Directors prepared to make promises – like this review we have waited all month for – and then just ignore it and hide behind the SLO.

Last month the Cynic prepared a letter to send to the Celtic Chairman Ian Bankier and hundreds of supporters sent these on to the club. Has anyone had a reply?

On Friday Neil Lennon as part of the Mainstream Media Conference – the Celtic fans media was completely excluded – spoke to the Sunday hacks and talked about the re-building plans he has for the summer. This is being read, somewhat out of context after the latest disaster against St Mirren – it was a disaster but sadly hardly a surprising one – as proof that even after losing at home to St Mirren for the first time in 30 years, Neil Lennon will survive.

He won’t. The January review if it isn’t delivered by those paid huge wages to run OUR football club will be delivered instead by THE CELTIC SUPPORT.

On Friday morning at 7am Celtic notified the London Stock Exchange that Peter Lawwell was stepping down on 30 June 2021. So the final benefit of the doubt that this running Celtic will get is that they are waiting until 7am on Monday 1 February 2021 to notify the London Stock Exchange that Neil Lennon, John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan have been relieved of their duties at Celtic FC with immediate effect.

Anything less and not even the great relationship that John Paul Taylor has with the Celtic support will be enough to protect them from the whirlwind of change that needs to sweep through our failing football club.

60,000 supporters signed up to watch this stream from Celtic TV and have been badly let down by the board, the management and the players. The Review in the New Year needs to happen and it needs to happen by 7am tomorrow morning, at the latest. After that the gloves are well and truly coming off.
