Jeremie’s Loving it – ‘100 per cent the right decision to come to Celtic,’ Frimpong

JEREMIE FRIMPONG has played his way into Neil Lennon’s starting eleven and the affection of both his teammates and the Celtic support. He’s almost certainly going to be in the side that starts against St Mirren this evening at Celtic Park, and as he’s the most attack-minded of the three quality right backs available to Neil Lennon, this is exactly the type of game where the Dutch star can shine.

The former Manchester City defender is dressing up for Halloween as a right winger of some note and seems to team up brilliantly with James Forrest. Put it this way, you almost feel sorry for the St Mirren left back the evening!

Frimpong has been speaking to this evening’s Matchday Programme – always better value buying the double deal with The Celtic View, great value for money at a £5 for the pair!

“I know 100 per cent that this was the right decision to come to Celtic,” Frimpong told the official match programme for tonight’s match with St Mirren. “It’s an amazing club to be a part of and I know I can fulfil my potential here, so it’s really good.

“Glasgow feels more like home now. When I first came it felt strange, but now everything feels normal and I can call it my home.

“The training has been really enjoyable. It’s hard work and I’m enjoying it every day. We have a great changing room full of really good people and there’s so much quality there too, so I’m learning every day and I’m doing that surrounded by the right people.”

He’s had two starts at Paradise where he was excellent against Partick Thistle and Ross County and then got his first goal up at Pittodrie after an positive run, great one two with Odsonne Edouard and a rather untidy finish.

“I’m still happy after scoring the goal but I won’t let it get to my head,” the 18 year old Celt said, as reported by the official Celtic site. “I know I need to stay focused and get ready for the next game.

“I’m naturally quite grounded so I don’t get carried away by things. I know I haven’t done anything yet. I’ve just played a couple of games so, obviously, I’m just going to keep that up for now and stay focused on the challenges ahead.”

Expected Celtic line-up this evening is as follows (we’re averaging 10/11)…

Forster

Frimpong, Ajer, Jullien, Bolingoli

Brown, McGregor

Forrest, Christie, Elyounoussi

Edouard

Expect Olivier Ntcham to make the bench, maybe Mikey Johnston too.
