Jim Craig – Celtic, under the guidance of Tommy Burns

Now under the guidance of Tommy Burns, Celtic started the season of 1994-95 fairly well, winning three and drawing two of their first five League matches as well as having League Cup wins over Ayr at Somerset Park (1-0) and Dundee at Dens Park (2-1).

On this day in 1994, the Hoops played their sixth league match thus far, with Hibs as the opponents at Celtic Park. The team was Marshall, Galloway, McNally, Mowbray, Boyd, McGinlay, Grant, O’Donnell, Collins, Nicholas, Walker; the result was a 2-0 win for Celtic, with the goals coming from Phil O’Donnell after 12 minutes and John Collins in the 53rd minute.

Many Happy Returns to two ex-Celts with birthdays today. Murdo MacLeod, born in 1958 and Craig Burley, born in 1971.
