Jim White’s Eternal Domination Comments

Much like Steven Gerrard, Jim White has questioned the mentality of the ‘Rangers’ team following their dismal defeat at Rugby Park last night. The loss put the Ibrox club ten points behind Celtic in the league table and much like an Alfredo Morelos gesture, many believe it is now game over as far as the title race is concerned.

Hosting his Talksport chat show this afternoon, White made it clear that he believes ‘Rangers’ have a mental block when it comes to getting over the finish line. The blue-nose pundit’s words were music to the ears of Celtic fans across the nation: “This will remain the default position from now on. For almost a decade it’s been second best for ‘Rangers’. At what point does it become impossible, not just for a group of players, but a club to overcome that mental block that ‘Rangers’ seem to have?”

The pain continued with attention turning to Steven Gerrard: “Nobody can deny the good work Steven Gerrard has done, but questions will always remain as a player, he couldn’t get over the line in England. Has he got the ability or mentality to achieve it at ‘Rangers’? They may have been on a different level as players, but the difference Neil Lennon has over Steven Gerrard is his winning mentality in Scotland and the know-how to get over the line when it comes to winning titles.

“The question is how is that going to change, when is it going to change and is it ever going to change? At the moment I can’t see it changing, it’s as simple as that. Celtic can go on winning everything as long as they want.” With a treble-treble in the bag, the League Cup won in December, a ten point advantage in the SPFL and a Scottish Cup quarter final to play – it looks as if Celtic haven’t got bored of winning trophies yet.
