Jullien was a big miss for parts last season and many hoped that he would partner Carl Starfelt in defence moving forward. Given this news, Celtic will need to sign another new central defender while Jullien continues his rehab.
The Frenchman will be hoping that he can get himself back to full fitness so that he can prove to the new manager that he is a reliable option at the back moving forward.
The defender returned to France to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury suffered at the end of 2020. In the 3-0 win over Dundee United, the French defender rushed towards the goal and slid in to make a goal saving clearance but was left grounded when his knee collided with the base of the post. The horror smash saw the central defender stretchered off.
Celtic could use his experience in tomorrow’s game against FC Midtjylland in the second leg of The Champions League. Postecoglou will need to delve into the transfer market to find another centre half in the next few weeks.
