Juventus Interest In Odsonne Edouard Heats Up Ahead Of January Transfer Window

Italian correspondents for stopandgoal.com have been consistently reporting that Juventus will make a move for Odsonne Edouard in January.

Juventus are currently languishing in sixth position in Serie A, ten points off the top! The Turin based giants have won the last nine league titles in a row, but now appear to be toiling in their quest for ten in a row.

To rectify matters, Andrea Pirlo has been keen to bolster his attacking options. Alongside Ronaldo and Dybala, the Old Lady reportedly want to introduce Odsonne Edouard, as Morata is currently the sole out and out striking option.

Juve’s first plan was to go for Arkadiusz Milik, but Napoli have no intention of selling the player. In addition, there would also likely be interest in Fernando Llorente, a footballer who knows Andrea Pirlo well and could be a luxury reserve in Juventus. However, Napoli have stated that they would prefer to sell Llorente to Sampdoria and not to a direct competitor.

With these options unlikely, Juventus are now looking towards Celtic’s Edouard, as revealed by Tuttosport, who have documented that there is interest on the part of the Juventus CEO, Fabio Paratici.

Edouard came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain so he is familiar with an elite club environment. Despite a lackluster start to this season, the Frenchman has still bagged almost a goal in every two games and has found the net in Europe before.

The Italian media indicate that Juventus are targeting him for a January purchase. Bidding is thought to start from a base of 15-20 million pounds for the player, but as Edouard will be a back up option at the Turin giants, Juventus want to avoid spending big.
