Kieran Tierney absent for Falkirk clash sparking Rangers fears

Kieran Tierney was absent from the Celtic squad to face Falkirk sparking fitness concerns for the weekend. The Scotland Internationalist has struggled with injuries throughout his career and appeared to pull-up towards the end of Celtic’s defeat at Tynecastle.

In Martin O’Neill’s first team sheet since returning as interim manager, there was a noticeable absence in the form of KT. Marcelo Saracchi came into the team to replace the former Arsenal defender but there was no place in the bench for the 28-year-old.

Shaun Maloney stated that he had used Tierney’s influence amongst the squad along with Kasper Schmeichel, Callum McGregor and Alistair Johnston to deal with the surprise exit of the manager. However, with Sunday’s Premier Sports Cup Semi Final against Rangers, it could be concerning that KT is not involved.

Celtic are already missing key first team figures – Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kelechi Iheanacho and Jota – for the game at Hampden. If KT is not fit, then this will be a big miss for Celtic.

Hopefully MON is able to provide some clarity on the situation after the game.
