Kieran Tierney on loan would be expensive but worth doing

The rumours surrounding Kieran Tierney and a possible return to Celtic refuse to go away. KT has been bombed out at Arsenal and unfairly in my opinion. The way he’s been treated by Mikel Arteta is a disgrace. He’s better than anyone in that position at the Gunners, so it’s quite clear something is not right.

Celtic should take advantage of this and swoop for the Scotland man. Obviously any move will be a loan deal as he carries a price tag well out of our reach, and a salary we couldn’t come close to matching.

A few million would likely be the fee for a year long loan, but one that would be well worth it. KT as we know is a terrific player, and I know we are well covered at left back, but he’s quality and you can’t turn down quality.

Also with our defensive problems at the moment it would make so much sense, considering KT is versatile and can play at centre back. A position he plays often for the national side and does it well.

So with a league title to defend and the challenge of European football, bringing in someone of the calibre of KT would be very beneficial. He’s talented, he knows the club and he’s a real leader. It makes sense. Let’s hope it’s one Brendan is pursuing.

Anthony Joseph from Sky Sports has reported that Brendan Rodgers is looking at three signings – a winger, a goalkeeper and a left back. Hopefully that is Kieran Tierney.
