Kieran Tierney’s Remarkable Record for Celtic

KIERAN TIERNEY’S stats at Celtic are hugely impressive as you can see from this tweet from OptaCeltic.

At only 21 the left back has clocked up an incredible 160 appearances for Celtic.

He’s sure to take that total to 161 on Thursday night as Brendan Rodgers makes just the one change to the side that swept Kilmarnock aside so impressively on Saturday.

Emilio Izaguirre had a fine match, and has an impressive Celtic record all of his own. He set the tone for the day with that wonderful cross for James Forrest to connect with and fire Celtic into the lead in the opening few minutes – meaning that Killie had to look towards plan B almost straight away.

But KT will be back on Thursday and will himself be a considerable threat down that left hand side – remember he opened the scoring against RB Leipzig and will not hesitate getting into those type of positions on Thursday.

Salzburg are likely to over-estimate how good they actually are and under-estimate the quality in this Celtic side. In the game in Austria, Celtic took the lead through Odsonne Edouard and held onto it until the interval.

But the Austrian Champions pressed the game well and a below par Celtic, with a weaker team that the one we’ll play on Thursday, were very poor defensively. All three Salzburg goals were soft.

That underwhelming second half performance can hopefully help us on Thursday as Salzburg turn up thinking the three points are easy pickings.

Celtic Park has sold out. The disco lights are on and Brendan Rodgers has got The Bhoys playing some pretty sensational football.

KT will be looking for a night to remember for his 161st Celtic appearance…
