Kilmarnock v Celtic: Referee and VAR officials confirmed for Rugby Park clash

Celtic travel to Rugby Park on Sunday to face Kilmarnock in the Cinch Premiership. Ange Postecoglou’s side opened up a twelve point gap over Rangers with a Glasgow Derby win last weekend but Michael Beale’s side will be able to reduce the lead to nine points when they host St Mirren on Saturday.

The SFA have confirmed that David Dickinson will referee the match. Dickinson will be supported by Craig Ferguson and John McCrossan. Duncan Williams is the Fourth Official. VAR duties will be performed by Alan Muir with Gary Hilland acting as AVAR.

Dickinson was the man in the middle when Celtic demolished Derek McInnes’ Killie 5-0 back in August. The whistler is becoming one of the more prominent officials and has officiated Celtic four times this year, wins against Dundee United (4-2), St Johnstone (4-1) and St Mirren (5-1).

Referees have been in the spotlight after the Glasgow Derby at the weekend. Kevin Clancy, who officiated the match, received threats after his personal/professional contact details were leaked resulting in abuse being directed towards him and his family. This behaviour has been widely condemned but the club that instigated it by painting a target on his back still insists upon apologies for a marginal call.
