Celtic travel down the M77 to face Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in Matchday 3 of the Cinch Premiership. Ange Postecoglou’s side will lock horns with Derek McInnes’ Killie – who will look to frustrate the Scottish Champions in the midday kick-off.
The newly-promoted side from Ayrshire will be tough to break down on their dry, artificial surface. However, the manager will be keen for his team to be clinical and put their chances away after squandering chances in front of goal in the opening two games.
Team News
In defence, Carl Starfelt is back in the first team picture but won’t start today. Stephen Welsh has recovered from an injury and could be involved in the matchday squad despite only having two sessions under his belt. Moritz Jenz will likely partner Cameron Carter-Vickers in the backline with Greg Taylor and Josip Juranovic operating in the full back berths.
In midfield, Reo Hatate remains out and you would expect an unchanged midfield three of O’Riley, McGregor and Turnbull. Guchi remains out injured. Carl Starfelt is ready but like Reo will not be risked on the astro pitch today.
In attack, Liel Abada and Giorgos Giakoumakis impressed in the Highlands. However, you would imagine that the manager is looking at continuing the front three of Maeda, Kyogo and Jota for the visit to Killie.
Kick Off Time
The game will kick off at Rugby Park at 12pm (Noon – Celtic Park time).
Where to Watch
After the away trip to Dingwall wasn’t televised last weekend, today’s game will be shown on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event with coverage starting at 11am. Celtic TV will also show the game outside Ireland and Britain.
