Kris Commons Panders to Rangers Masses By Suggesting ‘Tainted Title’

Kris Commons was a fine player for Celtic under Neil Lennon, he was a top scorer one season and a consistent, top performer at this time in Glasgow. A bust-up with Ronny Deila in Norway soured his image with many Celtic fans but he was given a decent send off, despite never playing for Brendan Rodgers.

In his post-playing career, Commons joined Kris Boyd with Sky Sports as well as writing a column for the Daily Mail. Commons can be balanced but appears to take his chance to stay relevant and appear impartial by pandering to Rangers supporters.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Commons said that the title could be ‘somewhat tainted’ if the 38 games are not completed.

It’s a strange scenario to be in but I don’t think anything ideal will come out of this.

“From a personal perspective I would like to think the season will not be null and void as if it never happened.

“Celtic, 30 games in and 13 points clear of Rangers should be champions, if that is the case.

“It almost feels as it if would be somewhat tainted in a way that they’ve not carried out the full fixture list.

“But, as I said previously, Celtic are top of the league for a specific reason because they have proved to be the best side in Scotland up until these 30 games.

“There could be plenty of twists and turns remaining in these eight fixtures but, it’s one that, would Steven Gerrard actually contemplate that sort of scenario? I don’t know.”

The only team in Scotland that have dared mention a tainted title or the season being null and void are Rangers. They are desperate to stop 9IAR off the pitch and it is hysteria from pundits like Commons that fuel the uncertainty.

“It’s a strange one; the magic nine in a row and going for ten, you’d like to think that Celtic would fulfil their fixture list and everything would be okay in a normal scenario.

“But, at the minute, people’s health, that is the main concern. That is why we’re talking about this right now.”

Celtic will be wanting to win their title on the pitch and silence those that dare question our sporting integrity or legitimacy as Champions.

Commons might still be a Celtic support but this attempt to stay relevant and neutral is almost embarrassing and behind closed doors, you have to wonder if his pal Neil Lennon is happy with him calling all his hard work in the past ten months ‘tainted’.
