“Landmark moment towards the day when we unveil the tribute to Cesar,” Billy McNeill Commemoration Committee in Bellshill

The Billy McNeill Commemoration Committee in Bellshill this week started the ground work to place the £70,000 Cesar statue in the town centre. The £70,000 target to fund the statue has already been reached, well done to everyone involved and the statue is due to be unveiled in May.

“In these trying times we have massive news regarding the statue. On Monday the work began to clear the ground for the placing of the magnificent structure ably assisted by members of the committee.

“Also shown is the base of the statue which has been constructed. This is a landmark moment in our journey towards the day when we unveil the tribute to one of Scotland’s finest sporting heroes and is due to the hard work of the committee and also every single one of the Celtic family who have contributed/supported us. A big thank you to every single one of you,” Frank Devine of the Billy McNeill Commemoration Committee stated.

Meanwhile here’s how the Bobby Lennox statue in Saltcoats was looking this weekend…
