League Cup Draw – Celtic’s trophy defence starts away to Kilmarnock

The draw for the last 16 of the League Cup, sponsored by Viaplay was made this afternoon and the news for holders Celtic is that we have an away game against Kilmarnock with the ties to be played over the weekend of 19/20 August, subject to TV selections.

Last season’s beaten finalists theRangers have a home tie (surprise, surprise) against Greenock Morton while Aberdeen are away to Stirling Albion, Hibs are at home to Raith Rovers and Hearts also have a home tie against Partick Thistle.

It’s unlikely that the Kilmarnock v Celtic game will avoid being selected for TV broadcast and it’s most likely to be shown on Viaplay. Hopefully there is decent away allocation for this game rather than the usual spectacle of Scottish football displaying empty seats on national television when there are supporters left frustrated at not being able to attend games.

Here’s the draw for the last 16 of this season’s League Cup…

Hibernian v Raith Rovers
Stirling Albion v Aberdeen
Airdrieonians v Ross County
St Mirren v Motherwell
theRangers v Greenock Morton
Kilmarnock v Celtic
Heart of Midlothian v Partick Thistle
Livingston v Ayr United

Ties to be played weekend of 19/20 August and subject to TV selections.

And here are the highlights from last season’s League Cup Final…

  2. Huns in sfa and Scottish league and 99 percent of referees that’s Brigadoon! scotland even in the courts as we saw with Nimmo Smith conclusions on the cheating money” not an unfair advantage”! What a place tho it’s always been thus that cespit in Govan should been demolished in 2012 as it’s always been a breeding ground of anti social perma rage, racism, secarisim and poison and openly so by its directors!!As we saw with their appartied anti Catholic and colour signing policy for decades! Which we all know still pretty much exists! What a place , so is it any wonder the cheating continues on all fronts! We should engineerined an escape from this set up decades ago ” blood on their hands” is also a true phrase here as that filth feel validated in attacking man, woman or child for even wearing green! Shame on those bastards for normalising der hun!! disgusting it really is
