The Celtic Star has been right behind the Celtic FC Women project and have built up a good relationship with Fran and his players. It was therefore extra special to be at Firhill yesterday and to see Celtic beat Glasgow City for the first time since Fran first game in charge.

Now the focus will turn to the league and the biggest factor yesterday is that Celtic now know there’s no team that they’ve to play this season that they aren’t more than capable of seeing off. Glasgow City until yesterday reckoned that they had the measure of Celtic and that we were inferior to them as a football team. They’d won the league for 14 years in a row and never felt that they were going to lose it last season, despite the Celtic challenge. Now it’s different. Times they are a changing in the Scottish Women’s game and for Celtic the tide is coming in.
