Legendary Celts on red alert for Aberdeen vacancy

Legendary Celtic duo Neil Lennon and Paul Lambert are on red alert for a potential vacancy in the Cinch Premiership. After Aberdeen’s shock defeat to West of Scotland side Darvel FC, Jim Goodwin is expected to be dismissed.

Lennon and Lambert are amongst the leading contenders should Dave Cormack decide to wield the axe once again at Pittodrie. It seems inevitable, especially after the midweek thumping to Hearts.

Lennon has been out of work since last year having left Omonia in Cyprus. However, Lenny will perhaps be waiting until a potential vacancy opens up at Easter Road with Lee Johnson also under pressure.

Lennon won ten titles with Celtic, eight Scottish Cups and three league cups in two spells as manager and as a player. He will always be a Celtic legend but it was clear that his time as manager was up. Lennon will be recognised for all that he has done for the club but it may take some time as the 2020/21 season was incredibly tough for everyone involved. Meanwhile, Lambert, who has managed in England with various clubs between 2006-2021, will be looking to get back into the game. In 273 appearances for Celtic, he scored 19 goals and picked up four titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
