Let’s park laughing at the comedy club – All Celtic thoughts now on Lazio

All Celtic thoughts now on beating Lazio…again!

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND – OCTOBER 24: Christopher Jullien of Celtic scores his team’s second goal during the UEFA Europa League group E match between Celtic FC and Lazio Roma at Celtic Park on October 24, 2019 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. (Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images)

We’ve all had a wonderful last few days, what with our dramatic win at Motherwell and the hapless yet hilarious  goings on over in Govan, but this morning our focus turns to the Champions League and tomorrow night’s crucial clash with Lazio under the lights at Celtic Park.

This is a must win game if we want to progress in Europe after Christmas and with it being at home, we will be considered slight favourites and with our support expecting a decent showing against the Italian side Celtic beat home and away under Neil Lennon.

Lazio however like most sides in the Champions League are top drawer. They finished second in Serie A last season and have an array of talent in their ranks led by an experienced manager in Maurizio Sarri. They are undoubtedly a talented side and will provide a significant challenge for Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic side.

Fresh on the mind of course will be those two victory’s against the Italians back in 2019. Christopher Jullien grabbing the winner at Celtic Park and Oliver Ntcham grabbing a late goal in a historic win upside down in Rome.

But that will matter not a jot this time around as it’s two completely different sides led by different managers. It does show that though that Celtic can do it!

This game in my opinion is one we can win, if we play to our potential. We’ve got to learn our lesson from last year and take our chances when they come, that’s a given. That could be the difference between winning and losing, it’s a fine margin.

Do just that and backed by a wonderful home support we can take all three points. It’s going to be some occasion. I can’t wait to hear that famous Champions League anthem belting out once more at Celtic park.

Bring it on!

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
