Liel Abada – What are Celtic getting? “The best finisher in the Israeli league”

The Everything Celtic account @aboutCeltic has been chatting to @israFooty about the incoming Celtic signing Liel Abada and it’s well worth looking at this thread.

“You’re getting one of the best players in Israel, he’s coming from Maccabi Petah Tikva and was their most important player last season.”

“Petah Tikva produce many good players in Israel, Manor Solomon came through the ranks here and got a big move to Shakhtar Donetsk. He’s now on the radar of many top teams.”

“Liel at 19 years old is very fast, ice cold in front of goal but the most important attributes is his animal like mentality.”

“His work ethic is second to none and his dedication is incredible. Most of his goals are match winners.”

“Maccabi Petah Tikva aren’t a great side right now but due to Abada they were a dark horse in the league last season. He’s the best talent in the league.”

“You could say he is very similar to Salah of Liverpool.”

“He almost joined Dynamo Kiev in January but the sides couldn’t agree a fee. He had offers from Anderlecht and Ligue 1 this summer but wanted only Celtic.”

“Celtic have had Israeli’s in the past but this is the first time you’re getting the crown jewels in every way of it.”

“I think this is your next big sale, his mentality is something that is rare to find in football… kind of like that of Kieran Tierney.”

“Thanks again to @IsraFooty for all the information, it looks like we’ve a top player here!” Everything Celtic concluded.

The player’s current manager Guy Luzon at Maccabi Petah Tikva has had this to say about the Celtic bound attacker,” Daily Record reports. “Liel is one of the greatest young talents I have ever seen in my time in football. And I say that when I have seen a great many of players both across Europe and at home.

“He was put in my team on merit and I will tell you why – he is the best finisher in the Israeli league and by a wide margin. Every goal he scores for us should add another million on to his value!

“He’s developed brilliantly and has improved with every season. Liel is still young but he is very mature for his age. He’s an outstanding prospect who is certain to have a very good future in this game.”

Small print issues scuppered the players move to Dynamo Kiev and Liel Abada’s dad was glad that the deal fell through at the 11th hour. “We were severely burned from the saga with Dynamo Kiev. It was extremely difficult for Liel to pick up the pieces after that deal collapsed.

“This time, we have been very careful with the negotiations with Celtic and we are extremely confident he will sign. Not many boys of his age would have been able to bounce back from that kind of disappointment and deal with the expectations after that.

“He will be in good hands at Celtic and we are waiting at home for the news to be confirmed.”
