Premier League Champions Liverpool are considering a late move for Celtic defensive target Ben Davies. The Anfield side are playing West Ham in the Premier League this afternoon; however, journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that Jurgen Klopp is looking to Davies as a short term fix to his defensive woes with three recognised centre backs out.

Celtic had been linked heavily with the defender, who has over 150 appearances for PNE but now with the news that Liverpool are considering a £2m swoop he will likely have his head turned. Sky Sports reported last week that a deal was done; although the news that Liverpool are keen on the player as well as no official confirmation suggests that a deal is still not done.
As a left footed central defender, a move for his would be shrewd, especially given the fact that he is a free agent in the summer. Although, it is almost a case of trusting Sky Sports at your peril. They are normally very accurate but it would be typical of Celtic this season to let a transfer like this slip away in the most embarrassing way.
