Love this split screen – ‘They’ve scored again’

Love this split screen. ‘They’ve scored again’…

Over at Ibrox last night, they weren’t for moving…for a few seconds at least.

As theRangers led Hibs 2-0 – thanks to a couple of penalty decisions going their way – and Celtic had been pegged back at Pittodrie, the hordes at Ibrox were feeling bullish enough to dust down the ‘We shall not be moved’ chant, believing they were heading back to the top of the Scottish Premiership. Apparently they even flashed up the league table showing them top on the big screens as a response to Aberdeen’s equaliser.

But in an embarrassing case of premature celebration Jota scored at Pittodrie to put Celtic 3-2 up, as a loan voice called out at Ibrox ‘they’ve scored again!’ and it turned out there was only team that wasn’t moving last night. Brilliant!

With just thirteen games to go and Celtic undefeated since 19 September you can understand the momentary excitement that brewed inside Ibrox, but it’s a beautiful sight and sound to see it silenced by Jota’s strike to win the three points for Celtic at Pittodrie last night.

This Celtic side really is something special, a joy to watch every time they play, they truly are the entertainers of Scottish football, but this is a side with a strong mentality and one not afraid to get their sleeves rolled up and scrap for the points when called upon, and they exhibited both sides at Pittodrie last night.

Meanwhile over at Ibrox it looks like they were clinging to the hope Barry Ferguson’s nephew had bailed them out after their pitiful performance at Celtic Park last Wednesday. Turns out however Celtic weren’t for moving!

As a Bellshill Bhoy I was taken to my first Celtic game in the summer of 1987. It was Billy McNeill’s return to Celtic Park as manager and Celtic lost 5-1 to Arsenal . I thought I was a jinx, I think my Grandfather might have thought the same. It was the finest gift anyone ever gave me when he walked me through Parkhead's gates.
