‘Lucky Man’, Ange Postecoglou reckons Mick Beale is right

Mick Beale, without doing the maths, reckons that the Celtic manager is a ‘lucky man’ because he’s had money to spent in the transfer market to build his team. The latest Ibrox manager reckons that Postecoglou is a net spender where the reality is somewhat different. In fact Celtic have funded the team that Ange built via player trading as this graphic we were sent illustrates perfectly.

Ange has also stated that he’s not interested in looking over the fence to see what his noisy neighbours are up to and instead will play his own game managing Celtic.  Yesterday though he addressed the ‘lucky man’ comment head on and with his usual flair and finesse to put Beale back in his box.

Mick reckons that while he maybe grudgingly accepts that Ange is a decent coach , the big difference is that he has much greater spending power than the former Queens Park Rangers boss.  Yet much of Celtic’s business has been done by selling the likes of Edouard and Ajer which could have been a similar situation across the city with them selling Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo in the summer, both for big money.

Maybe your problem is in the boardroom Mick, not in the Celtic dugout?

Ange though accepts that he is indeed in a fortunate position as the manager of our club.

“I agree, mate,” Ange Postecoglou said to the media yesterday. “I’m an extremely lucky man. I work for a fantastic football club with fantastic people. I’ve got a beautiful family. I’ve been doing this for 25 years now and long may it continue.”
